Summer Institute supports and addresses the timely need for educators to meet the Ethnic Studies high school graduation requirement in California. Through this 5-day institute, K-12 educators will gain theoretical and practical knowledge from award-winning UCSB faculty in Asian American, Black, Chicana/o, Feminist Studies, and Education Studies. Participants will also work closely with community members doing Ethnic Studies work to best meet the demands of the state, districts, and most importantly, our students.

ÉXITO's mission is to train current and future Ethnic Studies educators. ÉXITO Summer Institute intends to support and address the timely need for educators to meet the Ethnic Studies high school graduation requirement in California.
Through this 5-day institute, current and future K-12 educators will gain theoretical and practical knowledge from UCSB faculty in Asian American Studies, Black Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Feminist Studies and Education departments. Participants will also have the opportunity to work closely with community members doing Ethnic Studies work to best equip them to meet the demands of the state, districts, and most importantly, the students.
Price: Sliding Scale
Educators with Institutional Support- $1200
Late Career Educators (6+ years)- $500
Early Career Educators (1-5 years)- $250
Graduate Students - Fellowship ($0)

ÉXITO has reserved limited accommodations for educators who do not have institutional support for their stay and reside 45+ miles away from UCSB. These are on need-based cases and first come, first served basis.
